adam_free2airtrying to build devuan/testing for early chimaera image, but chroot sysroot /debootstrap/debootstrap --second-stage gives me15:50
adam_free2airW: Failure trying to run:  /sbin/ldconfig15:50
adam_free2airdebootstrap.log ends with:15:53
adam_free2airqemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - core dumped15:53
adam_free2airSegmentation fault15:53
Tenkawahmm… yeah we got one other report about that15:54
adam_free2airc0rnelius: is this related to qemu concerns you mentioned earlier?15:54
adam_free2airTenkawa: heya15:54
Tenkawawhat host env are you using?15:54
Tenkawahey15:54
adam_free2airvanilla ubuntu as per recommended.15:55
adam_free2airfully updated15:55
Tenkawaok… both of you are running ubuntu.. thats at least one consistency15:55
adam_free2airbeowulf works beautifully - testing barfs.15:56
Tenkawayeah thats what the other person said too15:56
adam_free2airaha.15:56
TenkawaI need to setup one of my spare x86's to be ubuntu so I can recreate these types of tests15:57
Tenkawa80% of my machines are arm or mac's so its tough15:58
adam_free2airi dragged my heals into installing a hosted ubuntu ... but now here i am ...15:58
c0rneliusadam_free2air: You tried the docker trick yet? see if it fixes it.15:58
c0rneliusdocker can just be purged afterwards.15:58
adam_free2airerm, not yet, no.15:58
TenkawaI'm starting to give ubuntu more of a look.. I started messing with it on my odroids and it moves15:59
c0rneliusone sec16:00
c0rneliusthis is the command - https://github.com/pyavitz/arm-img-builder#correct-qemu-errors16:01
c0rneliusso basically `sudo apt install docker docker-compose -y` && `sudo usermod -aG docker $USER`16:02
adam_free2airc0rnelius: thanks! just looking back at logs for it!16:02
c0rneliusthen run that docker command to correct the qemu bug16:03
c0rneliusafter that you can just purge docker if you want or disable the service.16:04
c0rneliusThe same thing happened on my x86 box after some qemu update on Focal. Not sure if Hirsute has the same problem?16:05
c0rneliusHirsute should also work as a host as it has all the same gcc packages and has gcc-11 as well.16:07
c0rneliusgonna boot my x86 ubuntu drive and see if its working there.16:10
adam_free2airso do you think it has to do with resetting the binfmt intepreters? i get msgs for their reset on the docker command.16:11
adam_free2airissued docker command, now rebuilding to test ... :)16:12
c0rneliusNot 100% sure what it if I'm honest :) I just know that docker command fixed it when i had the problem.16:12
c0rneliusmake sure to run `make cleanup` befor building again.16:12
c0rneliuswhat it is*16:14
adam_free2airheh. yes, cleaned and flossed. oh, and binfmt-support was also an install dependency for the minimal ubuntu server i spun up in a DC.16:14
c0rneliusIs it working for you now? I just had to redo it on mine to get it working again. Seems like every time they update qemu it breaks :\16:25
c0rneliusMaybe install Hirsute and see if its busted there too?16:26
adam_free2airstarting with an inexpensive 3 cpu vm, so still building ;)16:26
c0rneliusgotcha16:26
adam_free2airbut will defo give feedback rsn ...16:27
adam_free2airyup. docker trick seems to fix it. wouldn't mind betting that "update-binfmts --enable qemu-arm" also does the trick. i've noted to try if/when this happens again. or at least to "update-binfmts --display qemu-arm" to sanity check after qemu update.16:52
c0rneliusAlright let me know how it goes so it can be documented for the README17:02
adam_free2airack17:02
