enycplease-sir's! !!!10:46
enycAs beowulf getting ready,  i would really like some laptop-users to test power gobbling compared to ascii...    I wish to avoid the same issue MX (debian non-systemd similarly) have ran into   https://bugs.mxlinux.org/show_bug.cgi?id=239  .10:47
enyc(as-yet-unclear  but would guess some  functionality  over power, scaling,  or behaviour of particular daemons/x11/whatever   isn't working without systemd)10:47
enycsomebody was saying MX 18.3 use 19w and MX 19 use 30w  on their laptop, etc... had multiple queries.  like to see (or maybe help check!) beowulf-as-laptop-desktop doesn't have similar.10:48
fsmithredenyc, I got out the kill-a-watt and did some tests on a thinkpad T42013:53
fsmithredascii installed on internal ssd: 18W at rest13:53
fsmithredascii on live-usb: 14W13:54
fsmithredbeowulf on live-usb: 14W13:54
fsmithredjessie on live-usb: 14W13:54
fsmithredall of the above were with xfce13:55
fsmithredbeowulf, openbox, lxpanel with 5.3 backports kernel: 13W13:55
fsmithredwhile booting, it uses around 31-36W13:55
enycfsmithred: oh wow, thankyou!13:58
enycare there updated  devuan beowulf  images ready for testing?13:59
fsmithrednot yet13:59
fsmithredI was testing with refracta isos, which are all really devuan14:00
fsmithredI've got some betas here: https://get.refracta.org/files/testing/14:00
fsmithredpretty sure gnuinos has some beowulf isos14:01
enycfsmithred: thankyou for feedback, put into the mxlinux similar bug about power consumption and suggested they tried something similar....14:18
enycWhat, in gineral, needs doing/testing/otherwise  for beowulf  release?14:18
LeePengnu_srs1: Hi. Could you look at https://bugs.devuan.org/362, please? Is it an eudev thing?14:31
LeePenAlso #328?14:45
gnu_srs LeePen: Might be, can be related to update-initramfs -u in eudev.init. With -k all missing only previous initrd.img is updated. I've seen this when upgrading to a new kernel.14:46
gnu_srsChanging hosts BBL :D14:46
LeePenThanks. I am just trawling through the BTS. I don't really understand the guts of udev, so I might just flag up anything related.14:47
LeePenOK?14:47
gnu_srs1LeePen: A big problem with the bug reports is that asking for more info is never replied to: What to do in such cases, close the bug and ask the OP to reopen if it still is present?19:16
LeePengnu_srs1: Yes, I know.19:17
LeePenI think if there is no reply in a reasonable length of time and you think it is user error, closing seems fine.19:18
LeePenI sometimes leave a bug open if I think there might be something behind it as a way of collecting reports together. But I am not sure it always works.19:18
golinuxI just corrected the link on the development page to jenkins.devuan.dev19:26
golinuxEvilham: You will be happy to know that the merge was instantaneous,.  :D19:27
Evilhamyay19:28
golinuxGood that this has gotten sorted.  I'll be working on the beowulf theming of the websitetoday19:28
golinuxOnce it Looks OK on beta, I'll merge to master.  That should make folks happy to see that Beowulf is on the horizon19:29
fsmithredthe new front page for bugs has two text boxes set for package name and none set for bug number. Is there an easy fix for that?19:32
golinuxWhen did the bugs index page change?  The format is a bit confusing.20:21
golinuxThe text to the right is awkward and the options at the bottom would be clearer it there was some space between them.20:23
fsmithredI think it changed in the last 24 hours or less20:30
fsmithredI can't stop on bugs.devuan.org; I get redirected to a null search result20:31
fsmithredOh, this is a clue: it searches for a package named index.html, which is already filled out in the first text box20:32
fsmithredhttp://bugs.devuan.org/cgi/pkgreport.cgi?package=index.html20:32
golinuxI saw that but made no sense to me.20:35
golinuxThe new layout really sucks.20:35
fsmithredsomewhere in the code for that page is a misplaced 'index.html'20:38
fsmithredthat's my guess20:38
LeePenfsmithred: I changed a rewite earlier. That may be down to me.20:55
LeePenI will check.20:56
LeePenSorry.20:56
LeePenfsmithred: I have disabled the change I made. Better now?21:02
fsmithredLeePen, yes, it's back to the correct front page21:03
fsmithredthanks21:03
golinuxWhew.  I had a turn when I saw that change . . .21:03
golinuxThanks.21:03
LeePenI'll have another go and try to not break things tomorrow.22:15
