bpmedleyhttps://borta.rrq.id.au <-- Beta 3 !!06:37
bpmedleyKudos from rrq and myself, and I believe LeePen.. not sure who else to thank.06:37
adam_free2airCan someone point me to an up to date technical and submission process for packaging a new package for Devuan?16:29
adam_free2airI found d1h, is this current? https://friendsofdevuan.org/doku.php/community:development:devuan_packaging_helper16:30
adam_free2airor is debuild the way to go?16:31
adam_free2air(BTW, this would be to submit a package that is not (yet!) in Debian)16:32
fsmithredno, d1h is defunct16:37
fsmithrednew packaging guide is being written. I'll find the link.16:37
fsmithredadam_free2air, https://git.devuan.org/devuan-doc/documentation/tree/wip/new-packaging-guide/maintainers16:48
fsmithredadam_free2air, start by opening a project on git.devuan.org. If upstream has a git repo, clone it so that you get the full history.16:52
adam_free2air@fsmithred thank you - much appreciated. already cloned upstream into git.devuan.ogr :)16:54
fsmithredcool16:54
fsmithredas one of the few people who has had non-debian packages added to the devuan repo, I can tell you with certainty that I don't know how it's done.16:55
fsmithredmake the package and put it someplace where people can download and install it.16:56
adam_free2airfsmithred: lol. will share whatever I learn. and yup, will put initial packaging efforts someplace for ppl to d/l & install.17:52
onefangWhen I get around to packaging apt-panopticon for Devaun, I'll be sure to ask you for everything you don't know about packaging fsmithred.  B-)17:55
golinuxadam_free2air: May I ask what packages?  Just curious17:56
adam_free2airgolinux: sure, initially https://git.devuan.org/vortex/Zenroom18:04
golinuxAh . . . the Dyne thing18:09
golinuxWhen I saw that a few days ago I wondered . . . what does that have to do with Devuan?18:09
fsmithredmotherfuckingintermittentproblems!18:11
golinux^^^ alternate definition of samsara18:14
adam_free2air^^^ your karma runs over your dogma18:17
onefangIs ZenRoom based on Lua or LuaJIT?18:18
adam_free2aironefang: zenroom, written in C, accepts lua or zencode as script input.18:22
onefangYes, I figured that much after a quick look.  That's not what I asked.18:23
onefangLua and LuaJIT are both also written in C, and accept Lua script as input.  B-)18:24
adam_free2aironefang: ok. lua 5.3.4 https://git.devuan.org/vortex/Zenroom/tree/master/lib/lua5318:24
onefangIf speed is one of the things you want, then LuaJIT is worth looking at.18:25
adam_free2aircool. thanks for the tip. footprint of static binary is also important. would luaJIT fatten it much?18:27
onefangI experimented with that long ago, I don't recall it fattening by "much", but my definition of "much" might be different from yours.  B-)18:28
onefangI am worried about static binary size as well though.  One of my concerns at the moment is that LuaJIT doesn't expose it's hash table routines to C code using it's library.  I'm worried I'll end up having several implementations of basics like hash table routines from all the libraries I use.18:32
amesserLeePen: how to create the ticket for building in ci? Is there a manual?18:36
LeePenamesser: It is a work in progress (comments gratefully received):18:43
LeePenhttps://git.devuan.org/devuan-doc/documentation/blob/wip/new-packaging-guide/maintainers/PackagingGuide.md18:43
LeePenActually building is https://git.devuan.org/devuan-doc/documentation/blob/wip/new-packaging-guide/maintainers/JenkinsAutobuild.md18:44
LeePenBasically create new issue, title 'build', label 'unstable' and assign to releasebot.18:45
LeePenWatch progress on #devuan-ci and/or https://jenkins.devuan.dev18:46
amesserthx19:02
LeePenamesser: I see you have packaged tomcat9 9.0.31-1 which is buster backports. That should go in beowulf-backports. Are you doing 9.0.34 for ceres/chimaera too?20:33
amesserarg20:53
amesserLeePen: thx20:53
amesserjust trying to get msdos 6.22 running in vm including lan driver. what a pain :-)20:54
LeePenOld school!20:55
LeePenThere is no rush. Since it is arch all, it may well install in beowulf-backports.20:57
amesserah, they didnt tag it yet20:58
amessertherefore i missed it20:58
LeePenI had that today: current rsyslog in sid isn't even in salsa git let alone tagged!21:00
LeePenrmadison(1) from the devscripts packages is really helpful for listing suites and versions.21:01
LeePenDebian ones at least!21:01
amesserhmm, seems dos ndis driver crashes during init. shit21:04
onefangThat might be coz msdos 6.22 is using an old version of Microsoft SystemD.  B-)21:09
amesserlol21:18
