a6Y37lI'm using espeakup and espeak on devuan since I've never been able to see a screen.  Those work well, but I can't get vlc or audacious or mplayer or mpd to play any sound.  I've changed line 1676 to point at SB which is my sound card device in ~/.config/vlc/vlcrc but that didn't do anything to get vlc working.  I think the dng mailing list part of the devuan.org website no longer works since I've posted01:10
a6Y37lseveral subscription requests and never got a confirmation message or anything else acknowledging my request so I wrote to dng-owner@dyne.org and then decided to see if #devuan channel could help.01:10

specingAny ideas how to open cramfs archives on devuan?03:43
specingLooks like many debian packages are missing.03:43
fsmithredspecing, what's missing?04:14
mrpfilsermaybe cramfsprogs - at least i don't see it07:48
mrpfilserspecing, curious about cramfs - what do you use it for?07:51
* rrq found fsck.cramfs and mkfs.cramfs in util-linux 07:52
mrpfilsermy beowulf repo has squashfs-tools and squashfuse, if that can be an acceptable substitute for you?07:52
specingmrpfilser: the oscilloscope that I want to buy has Linux packed into cramfs, and I want to hack it to run devuan or something17:28
mrpfilserspecing: can you compile cramfs tools yourself?17:29
mrpfilseralso do consider your space limitations on the device.  cramfs is max ~270MB17:29
specingmrpfilser: I can. the NAND is 256MB I think17:30
specingbut I think if I do it, I'll just have grub there to chain-load rootfs from a large USB stick17:30
mrpfilserperhaps something like alpine linux would be a better fit17:30
specingI was just looking for a more out-of-the-box solution for looking into a cramfs filesystem17:30
specingperhaps17:31
specingdepends on what the scope binary program requires17:31
mrpfilseroh if you can boot from usb17:34
specingThe SoC is a Xilinx Zynq, 7020 or better. So it should be easy to develop for it17:37
specingand the scope has two usb ports on the case17:38
