rrqnote: dev1galaxy will go down shortly for a few minutes00:30
IdleRelayChatbrocashelm, only on OS X. I can't seem to find it in chimaera00:56
brocashelmidlerelaychat: debian does not officially maintain it, but you can grab debs from the official strawberry github page: https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/01:06
brocashelmit's pretty good, since it's a fork of clementine and meant for audiophiles with extensive collections01:06
IdleRelayChati've given it a try in os x when it was new, but they raised system requirements multiple times already, so i simply stuck with clementine. however i now need clementine in a devuan vm and it doesn't work. i'll give strawberry a try when i have gotten some sleep01:09
IdleRelayChati can't really concentrate anymore rn01:09
brocashelmidlerelaychat: sleep well! https://github.com/strawberrymusicplayer/strawberry/releases/download/1.0.2/strawberry_1.0.2-bullseye_amd64.deb01:13
IdleRelayChatthank you :)01:15
sycois that another fork from amarok/clementine ?01:18
sycoclementine works fine form me on devuan btw01:19
sycos/from/for01:19
brocashelmit is a fork01:21
Soltis php8.1-mysql : Depends: php8.1-common (= 8.1.2-1+b1) but 8.1.2-1+devuan3~1 is to be installed08:43
Soltisis there a reason a rather significant dependency is completely and utterly hosed at the moment?09:14
gnarfaceif it changed recently it could be build time or propagation delay09:16
gnarfacemaybe see if pkgmaster.devuan.org is also giving the same results09:17
gnarfaceor just try some of the other mirrors09:17
gnarfacethe default deb.devuan.org is a dns round-robin09:17
u-amarsh04gnarface and Soltis I am also seeing that at the moment, has happened far too often in the last several months11:23
IdleRelayChatbrocashelm, nice, strawberry does the trick so far12:16
IdleRelayChatthank you12:16
u-amarsh04debian.bio.lmu.de seems to be a culprit14:37
onefangA culprit in what?14:38
onefangI just rejoined the IRC server, missed any previous conversations for the last hour or so.14:40
ham5urgDoes Devuan has a linux-image-rpi in its repo? I can't find it.14:41
u-amarsh04I'm trying to do ceres upgrades and cups and firefox packages are shown as upgradeable but get a not found when running aptitude14:42
u-amarsh04these kinds of problems sometimes don't resolve until other new versions of packages arrive14:43
onefangham5urg: https://www.devuan.org/get-devuan has a section on "Installation Media for amd64, arm64, armel, armhf, i386 and ppc64el" that might help you.14:43
u-amarsh04not found is happening both on IPV4 and IPV6 addresses14:43
onefangDid you try another mirror?14:44
u-amarsh04deb.devuan.org, been several hours like this, switching from locally running named to ISP's DNS doesn't get to a different server either14:46
onefangManually pick a different mirror from https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/mirror_list.txt14:46
gnarfaceham5urg: no packaged ARM kernels yet, afaik; all the ARM images have device-specific custom kernels14:48
onefang#devuan-arm can help you with ARM stuff.14:48
ham5urggnarface, I just found an linux-image-rpi in debian, I was curious if it would be in Devuan too.14:49
onefangu-amarsh04: what's the version for the ceres cups update you are not finding?14:50
onefangFirefox packages are redirected to Debian mirrors, since we don't fork that.14:51
u-amarsh04thanks onefang, will have to check in a few minutes, ftp.fau.de was missing a Release file also14:53
onefanghttps://sledjhamr.org/devuan/devuan/pool/main/c/cups/ is what I got on my package mirror for cups.14:53
u-amarsh04ceres Release file also missing from mirror.ungleich.ch14:54
onefangapt-panopticon is showing them all good though, and it tests for that.14:55
u-amarsh04trying to get cups 2.4.1op1-2, firefox 98.0-1, linux-libc-dev 5.16.12-114:56
u-amarsh04https://sledjhamr.org/devuan/devuan/pool/main/c/cups/ is just showing me files from 2019-11-1814:58
onefangIt's showing the Devuan forked files, anything we don't fork is redirected to Debian package mirrors.14:59
u-amarsh04my normal url in /etc/apt/sources.list is http://deb.devuan.org/merged15:00
onefangThe "merged" bit means "Devuan forked packages merged with Debian packages we don't fork".15:00
u-amarsh04changing to http://mirror.koddos.net/devuan/merged worked15:02
u-amarsh04at least updated, but still not found error15:03
u-amarsh04earlier I had forgotten to add the end of the baseURL when changing mirrors15:05
onefangWell ceres is "unstable", maybe what you said before - wait a while for it to be a bit more stable.15:05
u-amarsh04now downloading the packages from ftp.fau.de15:05
onefangAll good now?15:05
u-amarsh04well I would like to understand the underlying problem that lasts for hours rather than briefly while the mirror synchs15:06
onefangIs it only happening in ceres / unstable?15:08
u-amarsh04as far as I can tell, but I run both pc's here on unstable15:09
gnarfacethey break unstable all the time upstream15:09
gnarfacesometimes they break it on purpose15:09
gnarfacekeep backups15:09
onefangI'd just put it down to being unstable, what it says on the tin.15:09
u-amarsh04it's different from that, didn't used to happen with devuan15:09
u-amarsh04and running debian since 200415:10
sadoon_albader[mHappened to me with debian ppc and ppc64 a few times, also unstable obviously15:12
u-amarsh04the fact that ftp.fau.de worked but debian.bio.lmu.de didn't suggests something broken both with debian.bio.lmu.de and the round robin process15:12
onefangI never run unstable, so no idea how stable it is.15:13
gnarfaceusually happens about 3-6 times a year if you're using nvidia drivers. i bailed out on them just because of that actually.15:13
gnarfaceunstable is where the non-free stuff really shows its true form15:14
onefangIf sledjhamr only has cups packages from 2019, it's entirely possible we stopped forking that at the time.  In which case both cups and firefox are being redirected to Debian mirrors.15:14
onefangapt-panopticon tests the Devuan package mirrors every ten minutes.  It obviously can't test every package every ten minutes, and tries to be gentle on mirrors by picking small packages to test.  I base decisions on which mirror is in or out of the DNS-RR mostly on it's results.  Part way through automating that.15:18
onefanghttps://sledjhamr.org/apt-panopticon/results/Report-web.html   http://veritas.devuan.org/apt-panopticon/results/Report-web.html15:19
onefanghttps://borta.devuan.dev/apt-panopticon/results/Report-web.html  only tests once an hour.15:19
u-amarsh04so all those reports are giving 1 HTTP failure on deb.devuan.org and an X for DNS round robin on deb.devuan.org15:23
onefangAfter midnight here, and I'm tired.  So I'm just gonna blame unstable and Debian, then maybe head to bed.  B-)15:23
u-amarsh04thanks for helping, get a good sleep15:23
onefangIgnore the deb.devuan.org failures, that's a known bug.15:23
onefang"X for DNS round robin on deb.devuan.org"  means the DNS-RR isn't gonna redirect deb.devuan.org to deb.devuan.org.15:24
u-amarsh04ah15:24
brocashelmidlerelaychat: you're welcome!20:04
like2hi all20:06
IdleRelayChatbrocashelm, it's running strong and stable since I wrote that last message :D20:16
brocashelmidlerelaychat: i told you dude ;)20:24
