mcrIs there a simple way to change the netinst iso boot images so that they boot from a serial console?00:19
gnarfacegood question, not sure, but if you can find the kernel command-line and edit it, you might just need to add one parameter00:22
mcryes, if plug in a keyboard/monitor/etc. yes, on can usually override the grub cmd line. (That doesn't seem to work anymore though)00:34
gnarfacehmm, fsmithred, do you know about this? ^00:45
fsmithredI've never used serial console. Check directions for installing debian that way. If that doesn't work, I guess we need to ask rrq if he knows how to do it.00:50
rrqisn't that just to add "console=ttyS0" to the boot line? and maybe also remove the vga parameter00:57
XenguyI think mcr missed the last 3 comments01:01
gnarfacemcr: they're saying it should work. what cmdline parameter did you use?02:15
mcrXenguy, I did in fact miss the comments.  I have been able to hit tab to override the cmdline, but it hasn't worked with Chimera... although I question the quality of the keyboard :-)22:40
mcrthe goal here is that I don't have to plug a keyboard/monitor into the system at all.22:40
mcrI'm building a new PXE boot environment now, since that let's me adjust the boot parameters easier anyway.22:41
