Soltisfsmithred: from STDERR? Besides, `ssh -n $host 'service dovecot restart 2>&1'` still hangs.01:09
Soltisonefang: I did try that; redirecting stderr to a file also resolves the issue, but the file created is 0 bytes01:11
Soltis(Just for fun, I also did >/dev/null 2>&1 and that also worked)01:12
SoltisMaybe related: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=204434201:12
fsmithredsorry, I have no idea. That was a guess.01:44
Afdalhmm, just realized Strawberry, the Clementine fork that's been around since 2019, still isn't in Debian/Devuan repo...02:51
fsmithredCandidate: 1.0.8-1 in daedalus02:58
fsmithredCandidate: 1.0.7-1~bpo11+1 in chimaera02:59
fsmithredAfdal, how are you looking?02:59
Afdaloh it's in the next testing release?03:00
AfdalI don't see it in my chimaera repos03:00
fsmithredit's in the current stable release. It's safe to upgrade your beowulf.03:01
fsmithredchimaera-backports, sorry03:01
Afdalerr wait03:01
AfdalI always get my version names mixed up...03:01
fsmithredchimaera is current stable03:01
fsmithreddevuan 403:02
Afdalapt-cache search strawberry03:02
Afdal returns nothing03:02
fsmithreddo you have chimaera-backports enabled in sources.list?03:02
fsmithred(I already know the answer)03:02
fsmithreddeb http://deb.devuan.org/merged chimaera-backports main03:03
Afdaloh right I have that disabled03:03
AfdalWell okay then, so I guess it was added sometime after the chimaera release then03:04
fsmithredyeah, backports come along later03:04
AfdalWhy did I disable backports anyway... maybe I should turn that back on...03:05
fsmithredI only have it so I can see what's in it. Like I just did.03:06
fsmithredI actually forgot that it was enabled.03:06
fsmithredif you're going to use stuff from backports, be selective. They have not all been tested together.03:07
rwp"ssh -n root@havoc service dovecot restart" does not hang for me on beowulf.  Are you on chimaera Soltis?04:26
rwpResponse from it is: Restarting IMAP/POP3 mail server: dovecot.04:27
rwpI am wondering if something in your ~/.ssh/config file is causing problems.  What happens with "ssh -n -F /dev/null ..."??04:30
rwpThat would avoid reading any configuration file, I think, and therefore should use only defaults but should work.04:30
gnarfacecan anyone tell me the exact lines to put in the networkmanager config to disable mac address randomization completely?04:53
XenguyDon't use it04:53
XenguyI mean I don't04:53
mhannonwhat is the correct server/channel to use for questions about the web forum (dev1galaxy.org)?05:09
rwpmhannon, Probably #devuan-offtopic if it is not related to the Devuan OS itself.  golinux monitors both channels and is often the most helpful about the web forum.05:12
rwpgnarface, I don't use Network Manager at all but AIUI look in /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/* for something that says "rand" as in wifi.scan-rand-mac-address=yes and disable that configuration.05:13
mhannonrwp thanks05:13
gnarfacerwp: file empty, on by default now, suspect it may take as many as three unique lines to disable it05:15
rwpNasty!05:15
