aberrant | hi all | 02:59 |
aberrant | just found devuan and I'm very excited to try it | 02:59 |
aberrant | running into an issue though - how do I install lxd? | 02:59 |
aberrant | it appears to exist but it's not apt installable (https://pkginfo.devuan.org/cgi-bin/package-query.html?c=package&q=lxd=5.0.1-2+b1) | 03:02 |
aberrant | ah, got it. it's in daedalus. | 03:10 |
aberrant | cool. Things seem to be working | 03:17 |
debdog | nice! | 03:43 |
golinux | Welcome to Devuan!! | 03:48 |
aberrant | thank you :) | 03:59 |
aberrant | so far so good. | 03:59 |
aberrant | I've missed the simplicity of sysv init. | 03:59 |
aberrant | how do I get tailscale installed? | 04:08 |
unclouded | How is /etc/adjtime created after debootstrap? Is there a "dpkg-reconfigure $package" that I can do? | 04:10 |
aberrant | I guess it's manual (tailscale). | 04:13 |
gnarface | unclouded: probably tzdata, but you might have to install it first | 05:05 |
gnarface | actually maybe it's created by hwclock | 05:06 |
gnarface | yea, i think it's hwclock, i think you just run "hwclock --systohc" | 05:07 |
gnarface | aberrant: sorry yea, doesn't appear to be in the repo | 05:08 |
unclouded | Thanks gnarface! "hwclock --systohc" generated /etc/adjtime for me | 05:21 |
aberrant | thanks gnarface. I managed to figure it out. | 05:22 |
Guest9 | Hello. I have a bluetooth wireless mouse I'm trying to connect to devuan. My blueman-applet does can not find the mouse when the mouse is in pairing mode. Is there any way to connect the mouse to my devuan system? | 05:40 |
Guest9 | * My blueman-applet cannot find... | 05:41 |
gnarface | Guest9: the debian wiki page should still be mostly relevant: https://wiki.debian.org/BluetoothUser | 05:59 |
gnarface | if your device is newer, maybe try the backports kernel | 06:00 |
Guest9 | gnarface I think I've followed that for the most part. On my devuan system, I have "bluetooth" installed and the GUI blueman-applet installed. I'm able to find other bluetooth devices on my devuan's blueman-applet's "Devices" section. I'm also able to see the mouse on Windows or my phone. But I can't seem to find the mouse on devuan. | 06:50 |
Guest9 | The mouse is a Lenovo Go. I'd say it's relatively new. | 06:53 |
Guest9 | I have a bluetooth wireless keyboard paired/connected with my devuan. | 06:55 |
Guest10 | Hi all - I'm trying to get registered on dev1galaxy.org but getting "Unfortunately it looks like your request is spam...." Is this where I can get that fixed? | 12:23 |
Guest10 | 201 idling and nobody has a suggestiong? | 12:25 |
phogg | Guest10: be patient, a reply may come in some minutes or hours | 12:26 |
Guest10 | I see. THank you | 12:28 |
djph | with no other context; I'd expect you're blocking javascript or similar that's hooking into the antispam thing | 12:38 |
gnarface | already gone :( | 15:35 |
gnarface | and i assume they didn't try the backports kernel to see if that fixed support for their device3 | 15:35 |
gnarface | device | 15:36 |
aberrant | yeah. That threw me. I did a `-Su` and then rebooted but got a disk error so had to fsck. Everything looks fine now though. | 17:04 |
aberrant | oops, sorry, wrong channel | 17:04 |
