konai misread that to be an implementation of nntpd and wondered _why_ but now i see it's a time sync daemon.00:53
freemangordonWizzup: yep, could be something in icd plugin08:47
freemangordonlike, trying to connect at a time when something is still not ready08:47
freemangordonthis happens on power-up only, whne auto-connect is enabled08:47
freemangordonyou can see the status in connections dialog to 'connecting', but actually it does not connect08:48
freemangordon10 seconds (or so) later, you can connect manually08:48
freemangordonsicelo: agree ^^^ ?08:48
sicelowell, i don't use auto-connect. but it still happens. i could boot the device, and leave it unconnected even for hours. when i finally try to connect, it will show networks either normally or greyed out. when i finally pick one (already saved), it will show a connection error. it connects on the second or third try10:06
freemangordonit is different here then10:19
freemangordonI've seen "connection error" here only once or twice for the last couple of months10:19
freemangordonbut that could be because the 1st connection attempt is automatic10:20
Wizzupfreemangordon: pretty sure it's in wpa supplicant11:12
Wizzupor both, but it's not necessarily first time for me11:12
Wizzupfreemangordon: I think we should start moving -devel to stable, yeah?11:17
Wizzupwe don't have a way to get updates to the repos atomically12:02
Wizzupthinking about just turning off nginx for a few hours for all our pkgs to hit the repos...12:02
Wizzupmeh12:02
Wizzuprafael2k: when you read this please test ofono for the pinephone if you can12:15
Wizzupsicelo: can you find the recaller git/svn repo?12:46
Wizzupheh recaller needs some work :)13:20
Wizzupwill do that later13:20
Wizzupsame for recorder, but seems easier13:33
Wizzup(just needs vfs porting and build system cleanup)13:33
Wizzuphttps://vcs.maemo.org/git/?p=maemo-recorder;a=summary at least it has git :)13:33
Wizzupsicelo: any idea how to clone that ^ ?13:34
Wizzuprafael2k: ping13:42
rafael2kWizzup: pong13:44
rafael2kmy pp keyboard is already in moscow, should arrive at mail office soon13:44
rafael2k: )13:44
Wizzuprafael2k: does the ofono I buiult work for you?13:44
WizzupI buil*13:44
WizzupI built*13:44
rafael2kWizzup: yeap13:44
rafael2kwhy?13:45
Wizzupok, then I can push it out13:45
rafael2kah, ok13:45
Wizzupit didn't see the modem on my pinephone13:45
Wizzupso maybe I did something wrong13:45
rafael2kI'll leave a bit, I come back soon13:45
Wizzupok, please confirm 1.34 works13:45
rafael2k(need to talk about audio again...)13:45
Wizzupif you hadn't already :)13:45
rafael2kit works!13:46
Wizzupok13:46
rafael2kI made a phone call and so on...13:46
Wizzupok13:46
Wizzupweird that my pinephone doesn't see the modem13:46
rafael2kit has the qmi calls patch13:46
Wizzupmaybe it's a udev rules thing13:46
rafael2kcheck if you have atinout...13:46
rafael2kthere is some hardcoded script in maemo to bring the modem up13:47
rafael2kwhich uses atinout, which I think is not installed by default13:47
rafael2kI come back soon13:47
Wizzupok13:53
freemangordonWizzup: hmm, there should be a link to git13:53
WizzupI'll afk for a bit too13:53
freemangordonlemme check13:53
Wizzupfreemangordon: there is none there13:53
freemangordonWizzup: git clone https://vcs.maemo.org/git/maemo-recorder13:57
freemangordonBTW, what is this?13:57
Wizzupfreemangordon: you can use it to record/dictate I think13:57
freemangordonok13:58
Wizzupthx for the link13:58
freemangordonnp13:59
Wizzupfreemangordon: btw I'm pushing -devel stuff to stable no14:00
Wizzupw14:00
freemangordongreat14:13
freemangordonplease lmk when it is ready, I have 2 more fixes in mind for omap ddx and it should become as good as possible with them14:14
Wizzupfreemangordon: when what is ready? the stable push?14:31
Wizzup(just checking)14:31
freemangordonWizzup: yes, I don;t want to push anything in -devel until then14:41
Wizzupok14:42
humpelstilzchen[Is there documentation on how to build the kernel? I assume https://github.com/maemo-leste/pine64-kernel is the source? Is it something like importing both branches pine64-kernel-5.4.y and maemo/beowulf-devel?19:09
humpelstilzchen[..or is it the mobian-5.15 branch that goes with beowulf-devel?19:09
Wizzuphumpelstilzchen[: kernel packages are a bit different from normal packages19:23
Wizzupthey're also a bit more in flux19:23
Wizzupbit technically you can check out the debian/changelog file, see what the tag is (or branch), then check out that branch, and then check out the debian directory from the maemo/beowulf branch19:23
Wizzupbut gbp-buildpackage might do all of it for you19:23
humpelstilzchen[wow, thats complicated - I'll checkout manually ;)19:36
Wizzuphumpelstilzchen[: ok, sure, let me know19:38
huckgIs there a command to turn off/on the radios?19:40
humpelstilzchen[Wizzup: thx.19:42
huckgI installed the rfkill package. But apparently it requires the rfkill kernel module.19:47
huckgwhich is not found when i tried to modprobe it.19:47
huckgBut maybe there is another way already in the system??19:49
Wizzuphuckg: do you mean modem, wifi, or both?19:50
huckgboth.19:53
huckgI don't use cell modem, and I don't need wifi on constantly.19:54
Wizzupifconfig wlan0 off can do it, there is also the wifi switcher in the application manager19:57
Wizzupand with ofono of course you can power down the modem19:57
huckgThanks, is ofono a package?19:59
Wizzupyeah it's a package19:59
huckgThanks again.19:59
Wizzupsure, fwiw, normally on maemo there is airplane/offline mode20:07
Wizzupand that will allow you to do it using the UI20:07
Wizzupwe're just not there yet :)20:07
freemangordonWizzup: it seems my xorg knowledge (which is close to zero :) ) is not enough to do what I wanted20:21
freemangordonso I will try to fix that nasty patchy screen on rotation in the kernel somehow20:22
Wizzupah20:22
Wizzupcheck20:22
Wizzupomap-linux is building now20:22
Wizzupwe're quite far along with the stable builds I think20:22
freemangordonso, officially, our omap ddx can't be done any better by me :)20:23
freemangordonWizzup: speaking of which - how is handles count/dma_buf usage?20:24
freemangordonas if we still haev leaks, maybe I can fix them20:24
Wizzupcurrently 42220:24
Wizzupbut I didn't use my d4 much todau20:24
Wizzupdoing random stuff it seems to stay at 421 though20:25
Wizzupthat is with 2 days uptime20:25
freemangordonhmm, a bit too much I would say20:27
Wizzupit seems stable though I think20:28
Wizzupit might depend on the amount of widgets on the home20:28
freemangordonright20:28
Wizzup(I have a lot)20:28
Wizzuplike 19 shortcuts20:29
Wizzupcalendar widget, ip widget, etc20:29
freemangordonstill, looks like too many, but may be it is normal20:30
freemangordonok, please monitor those on daily basis, so if we still have leaks, I think I am able to fix them20:30
Wizzupyeah, at least rotation and lock/unlock don't cause problems20:31
freemangordonI know, but maybe we have other leaks20:31
freemangordon422 is handles count or dma_buf count?20:31
Wizzupls -lsh /proc/`pidof Xorg`/fd | grep dmabuf | wc -l20:31
freemangordonumm, could you mount debugfs?20:32
freemangordonand see what bufinfo says?20:32
freemangordonsorry to distract, but I am curious20:33
WizzupTotal 422 objects, 10010624 bytes20:33
Wizzup# ls -lsh /proc/`pidof Xorg`/fd | grep dmabuf | wc -l20:33
Wizzup42220:33
freemangordonyeah, seems the same20:33
Wizzupyup20:34
freemangordon10MB looks like normal though20:34
Wizzupyes20:34
Wizzupg2g afk for a bit20:34
freemangordonI am afk as well20:34
siceloWizzup: recaller had a nasty memleak iirc. i had switched to orecchiette, which worked pretty well, although it wasn't a widget22:43
