Oksanabrolin_empey: No, it turned out that Sailfish OS GUI made it way too easy for me to format internal Pro1 partitions, thus rendering it unbootable. With "Factory Reset Tool" by tdm, I was able to re-flash said partitions (bootloader, firmware...), and Pro1 booted into Sailfish OS just fine, no data lost.00:16
OksanaBattery turned out to be 3% charged by then.00:17
OksanaIn short: when using Sailfish OS (especially on Fxtec Pro1), don't format a partition just because GUI suggests to do so; it may be an internal partition of the device.00:18
brolin_empeyOksana: OK, glad that you resolved your problem even if Fxtec has not (yet) replied to you.00:47
Oksanabrolin_empey: No idea what's happening with info@fxtec.com . I am just glad that Fxtec is so helpful in providing firmwares and everything.00:49
brolin_empeyOksana: OK.  The plural of “firmware” is still “firmware”, or maybe “firmware” is an uncountable noun.05:38
dopplerI've heard "software" pluralized05:47
doppler(I don't know if it's useful as a distinct plural, but ppl do it)05:48
brolin_empeydoppler: Probably by non-native English speakers, like with “advices”.08:27
MaxdamantusIf "firmware" is countable, its plural is "firmwares". If it's uncountable, it has no plural.09:04
MaxdamantusI feel like "firmware" is more likely to be used countably than "software".09:04
Maxdamantus("a firmware" would be another use of it countably)09:05
brolin_empeyMaxdamantus: “sheep” is a countable noun but the plural form is the same as the singular form.09:38
Maxdamantusbrolin_empey: correct.09:39
MaxdamantusYou only have singular/plural forms of countable nouns.09:40
MaxdamantusIt doesn't make sense to have an uncountable noun and talk about its plural or singular forms, because there is no plural/singular form.09:40
MaxdamantusIf you use "firmware" as a countable noun, it is unlike "sheep" in that its singular/plural forms are distinct.09:43
