brolin_empeyThe path is too deep for Windows 7 but apparently not Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to delete a directory in an NTFS volume?01:58
brolin_empeyYes, apparently Ubuntu is happy to delete this directory that Windows 7 refuses to delete.02:21
luke-jrbrolin_empey: remember NTFS support for Linux is reverse-engineered..04:01
brolin_empeyluke-jr: Not if you use captive NTFS, which uses the NTFS driver from Windows NT, but I do not know if captive NTFS is still supported/maintained.  In this case, the directory I wanted to delete (howard2009_WinXP_SSD) was most of the contents of the root directory of an NTFS volume for Windows XP on an SSD (howard2009) that was replaced by another SSD with Windows 7 (howard64) when Windows XP became too antiquated, then this howard64 SSD was cloned to create05:01
brolin_empey the reception64 SSD to replace an HDD with Windows XP (reception2008 if I recall correctly) but this large directory was still left over on the reception64 volume, which was near full.05:01
* luke-jr wonders if you can even use captive NTFS on ARM05:10
brolin_empeyApparently I am five months late to learn that Chuck Peddle died.06:46
luke-jrwho?06:54
