al1r4dDoes changing a DNS server have an impact on internet speed? I have been using DNSCrypt and chose the Quad9 server, and my apt download is faster than before.01:54
fsmithredal1r4d, are you using a specific mirror or the round-robin. There's significant speed differences on different mirrors.01:57
buZzal1r4d: it should not02:00
buZzbut indeed, you could have switched mirrors02:00
debdogal1r4d: speed itself not. resolving an URL yes.02:03
rwpI always run a local DNS caching nameserver to avoid latency of DNS lookup on remote servers.02:10
Guest6hi, has anyone had issues trying to load a kernel module for USB Wi-Fi adapter in Devuan ? I checked it hasn't been blacklisted in modprobe.d config file. Also, modprobe seems to load the .ko file? Is there some other place I need to change configuration so it loads when Devuan boots?05:58
gnarfaceGuest6: if you need to, yes, you can just add it to the /etc/modules file and it will load at boot. since it's a usb wifi adapter, note that there's also a possibility you need a extra package for it from non-free-firmware to make it work.06:03
rrq.. also note that firmware-iwlwifi (and others) for ceres/excalibur install into the wrong directory, /usr/lib/firmware, rather than /lib/firmware06:08
aitor_Guest6: my TP-LINK works with firmware-ath9k-htc (it's free)22:10
