KotCzarnyhehe, tobin is violating rule 1f of the pm forum07:28
KotCzarnyerm, wrong chan :)07:28
ceenePali: I know you're a bit of an expert on uboot, maybe you can lend me a hand on booting SPL on a zynqmp? I'm desperate now :(10:04
PaliI really do not know nothing about zynqmp10:05
ceenemaybe you know some typical reasons for SPL not to show nothing on console? I am able to run full uboot, launched by first stage boot loader provided by xilinx, so my uboot configuration is more or less ok10:06
ceenebut SPL doesn't even say hello on the serial port10:06
ceenezynqmp is quite complex indeed, having another processor to manage internal power and things, which requires an additional firmware, etc, but I would expect getting the basic "U-boot SPL" message should be pretty straightforward10:08
KotCzarnymaybe its not booting at all?10:15
KotCzarnyie. crashing in spl already10:15
ceeneprobably10:15
ceeneI think there's some way to debug this via JTAG, but xilinx tools are terrible10:16
ceeneso it's possible I could run SPL step by step, but I'm pretty sure it has to be some configuration option that I'm not setting, or setting, or erroneously setting10:16
PaliI do not know... on n900 we do not use SPL at all10:19
ceeneyeah, I've seen latests mails on the mailing list. I think they want you to10:20
ceeneI was hoping you knew everything :)10:20
Paliand other platforms which I use (kirkwood/mvebu) can print to uart at early beginning10:20
Palibascially the first instruction can be write to uart register and it immediately show at serial console10:21
Paliso if your platform has already initialized uart you may try to put debug message at early beginning if you see it...10:21
Paliand on arm64 I'm not using SPL too... direct U-boot loading by TF-A (arm trusted firmware)10:23
Paliso I do not have too much experiences with SPL10:23
ceenewell thanks anyhow10:44
ceenei'll be trying a couple of things and then i'll see if i can debug this via jtag, but i'm not sure if it's possible10:45
